IFRS & Compliance Sr. Specialist

Role Purpose

Highly qualified Financial Specialist Ensure the organization's financial reporting aligns with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Provide expert guidance on financial practices and risk management. Specifically, ensure the accuracy and integrity of balance sheet reporting, conducting thorough reviews and reconciliations to maintain compliance and mitigate risks in addition to the adoption of SOX controls and any new accounting standards implications.

Key Accountabilities & Decision Ownership

IFRS Implementation and Compliance

 

  • Provide and update financial treatments regarding the application of IFRS to financial reporting and accounting transactions.
  • Lead the implementation of new IFRS standards and updates within the organization.
  • Conduct training sessions for finance and accounting teams on IFRS requirements and new treatments that need to be implemented.
  • Guide the preparation of financial memos to support any new accounting treatments in our local market.
  • Coordinate with the group’s IFRS team to highlight any accounting changes that need to be adapted or adjusted.


Balance Sheet Compliance Monitoring and Testing

 

  • Develop and execute Balance sheet compliance monitoring and testing plans to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures as per Vodafone Group Financial Reporting and Governance guidance.
  • Identify and assess Balance sheet compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and present Balance sheet compliance reports to senior management and audit committees.


SOX-R2R Implementation and Delivery

 

  • Prepare and deliver the R2R-SOX controls with proper adherence to the regulations.
  • Identify and assess compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with our statutory team to facilitate our external audit exercise deliverables and address any findings and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.


Hyperinflation Accounting implementation

 

  • Evaluate the impact of hyperinflation on financial statements and business operations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to address hyperinflationary accounting requirements.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with IAS 29 (Financial Reporting in Hyperinflationary Economies) or relevant standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to hyperinflationary accounting.
  • Other responsibilities and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Must have technical / professional qualifications: 


•    Excellent financial accounting background with minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant role.
•    Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
•    Full understanding of accounting standards and VGIP policy
•    Excellent command of written & oral English language.
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
•    Excellent knowledge of computer skills (Mastering the MS office)
•    Advanced Ability to work under pressure
