- Source and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and evaluate offers.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to ensure competitive submissions.
- Work with design, planning, and procurement teams to ensure all aspects of the tender are addressed.
- Provide technical input to enhance value engineering and optimize costs.
- Identify potential risks, such as cost escalations, delays, or technical challenges.
- Ensure tenders comply with industry standards, client specifications, and legal requirements.
- Stay updated with relevant codes, regulations, and construction practices.
- Attend pre-award meetings to negotiate terms and address concerns.
- Offer ongoing support during the project initiation phase, if needed.
- Conduct comparison studies for suppliers’ and subcontractors’ quotations
- Follow up with Quantity Survey Engineers and provide them with the necessary guidance- whenever needed- on the tools to be used.
- Attend the Clarification Meetings with the owner of the project
- Participate occasionally in offshore jobs by contributing to researching about international suppliers and communicating with the Planning and Cost Control department to get information about international material and labor costs for estimation.
Bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering.4-5 years of experience in civil tendering, cost estimation, or a similar role.Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and pricing strategies.Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Proficiency in English is essential.
