Role Summary:

The Senior Implementation & Migration Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, deployment, and migration of complex IT infrastructures with a primary focus on Microsoft technologies. This role involves deploying and managing Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Server, WSUS, SQL Server, Office 365, and Azure. The engineer will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth migrations, seamless integrations, and the implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, install, and configure Active Directory domains, forests, group policies, and trusts.
• Migrate Active Directory environments, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal security practices.
• Ensure integration with other services, including Azure Active Directory and hybrid identity management.
• Deploy and configure Microsoft Exchange Servers, ensuring secure email systems and efficient mail flow.
• Perform Exchange Server migrations, including on-premises to cloud or hybrid migrations (Exchange to Office 365).
• Manage user mailboxes, public folders, and distribution groups while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
• Set up and maintain WSUS for centralized management of Windows updates across all client systems and servers.
• Automate and schedule updates to ensure systems remain secure and up-to-date.
• Implement, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances to support various applications.
• Perform database migrations, ensuring data integrity, high availability, and optimized performance.
• Monitor database performance and perform tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Plan and manage large-scale Office 365 migrations, including email, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Ensure the seamless integration of Office 365 with on-premises infrastructure and cloud services.
• Provide post-migration support, training, and documentation for end-users and IT staff.
• Lead cloud migrations to Azure, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS implementations.
• Configure Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, and security services.
• Migrate on-premises workloads to Azure while ensuring cost optimization, security, and reliability.
• Assess current infrastructure environments and create detailed migration plans with timelines, risk management strategies, and resource allocations.
• Perform pre-migration testing, post-migration validation, and troubleshooting to ensure a successful migration with minimal downtime.
• Develop comprehensive migration guides, system configurations, and post-implementation documentation.
• Provide training and support for clients and internal teams to ensure the proper use of new systems and technologies.

Important:

• Plan, install, and configure Microsoft SharePoint Server for document management, collaboration, and workflow automation.
• Migrate on-premises SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online as part of an Office 365 migration.
• Deploy and configure SCCM for centralized management of Windows devices, software distribution, patch management, and endpoint security.
• Migrate SCCM environments or upgrade versions while minimizing disruption to existing services.
• Install and configure SCOM to monitor critical IT infrastructure, applications, and services.
• Ensure proactive monitoring, alerting, and reporting to identify and resolve system issues before they impact operations.
• Deploy and manage Windows Defender for End-Point to provide advanced threat protection for client and server systems.
• Integrate with Microsoft Security Center for real-time monitoring and incident response.
• Implement Microsoft Intune for device management and security across mobile devices, laptops, and desktops.
• Ensure compliance policies are enforced, and devices are properly enrolled and managed.
• Configure and maintain endpoint protection solutions, including antivirus, firewall, and threat detection systems for network security.
• Monitor endpoint security events and respond to threats by adjusting security settings or policies as necessary.
