Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Purpose of job:


To supervise a team and thereby ensure the objectives for the respective area of HR specialisation by identifying needs, planning, developing, implementing and executing policies & systems and managing them successfully and ensuring line managers and employees satisfaction.


Key Work:

  • To ensure adherence to human resources policies, practices and procedures of the company (with respect to his / her specific area of responsibility) in a manner that reflects the company’s philosophy towards it’s personnel.
  • To maintain professional confidentiality regarding employee personal and company-sensitive information.
  • To manage and maintain personnel records in accordance with company procedures.
  • To assist in identifying needs, designing processes and policies, implementing solutions and supervising execution of the system with effect to one or more of the following (with respect to his /her specific area of responsibility):
  • To supervise all Payroll unit functions and daily activities and be responsible to ensure that monthly payroll for all company employees is processed on time.
  • To ensure reports are prepared as and when required like the Headcount reports.
  • To help to develop and maintain performance management processes and make significant contribution to employee motivation, performance and development. To also Coach Supervisors / Team leaders in giving good Employee feedback.
  • To help line managers in the process of manpower planning, recruitment and selection of skilled and competent resources to meet the company’s business needs.
  • To assist in planning and implementing employee development and career planning programmes to meet identified needs and satisfy the company’s requirements for an effective and multi-skilled workforce.
  • To survey and define processes and solutions with regard to Reward Management Systems and the operation of the company’s pay structure and performance pay schemes which obtain, retain and motivate employees. To maintain compensation programs by participating in compensation and benefit surveys, developing, preparing and/or revising job descriptions, analysing data, labour market evaluation, and participating in compensation and benefit surveys conducted by other companies. Makes recommendations based on analysis and findings.
  • To help develop and maintain an effective computerized HR information system to maintain accurate records and to generate information as a basis for decision-making.
  • To be accessible to all the employees for discussing any personnel related matter and handle their complaints and grievances with regard to their area of expertise.
  • To maintain excellent working relationships with internal clients and external business partners / regulatory bodies
  • To train, supervise and mentor the necessary staff to ensure the smooth functioning of the responsible function in accordance with Company procedures and policies.


Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience required


Knowledge


Knowledge of policies, principles and procedures governing the various aspects of human resource management to include one or more of; payroll, performance management, manpower planning, training & development, recruitment, selection, compensation and employee relations.

Knowledge of principles and techniques involved in effective planning and goal setting; motivation policies, principles and techniques.

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • More than 12 years of relevant work experience in the area of specialization in human resources. (Desirable: Experience in leading a team to achieve desired objectives)
