Roles at this level will typically be responsible for finished products or raw materials warehouse and lead a team of warehousing personnel with the requirement for the input of both professional expertise and line supervision. The work focus is very much operationally and procedurally oriented with the need for delivering cost-effective solutions against agreed standards of client service. Role holders must be competent to handle a range of problem-based scenarios and also be able to identify and act on opportunities for system improvements. They will also be required to provide development and mentoring support for subordinate personnel.
Key Accountabilities
- Staff Supervision:
- Plans, organizes, directs and controls activities of site warehouse staff involved in the receipt, storage, preservation, issue and inventory control of finished products or raw materials in order that the company has a cost effective and readily available supply of these to meet its on-going sales and operational needs.
- Policies and Procedures Development:
- Provides input based on experience and expertise for the development, implementation and enhancement of procedures and processes that support the achievement of cost effective business and professional objectives.
- Activities Co-ordination:
- Co-ordinates warehouse activities with operational departments in order to achieve effective workflows and economies of scale.
- Physical Inventory Program:
- Manages and participates in the continuous physical inventory program in order to confirm the accuracy and completeness of data records and to identify and resolve anomalies.
- Data Integrity:
- Ensures the integrity of all information inputs in order to achieve effective and timely processes for the receipt, issue and re-ordering of materials that meet operational needs.
- Activity Reports:
- Completes accurate and comprehensive management and activity reports in order for more senior staff to monitor work progress and be apprised of potential issues.
- Facilities and Equipment:
- Ensures regular maintenance of all facilities equipment and systems in order to ensure optimum operational status and retention of asset values.
- Leadership Training & Development:
- Leads, assesses, motivates and guides warehouse staff to achieve agreed targets. Ensures they continuously develop and that their skill levels are sustained and enhanced through identified training needs.
- Customer Focus:
- Instils in staff an awareness of the need to deliver against agreed service standards, and its positive impact on cost-effectiveness, in order to meet customer expectations.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensures the implementation and adherence to approved health, safety, environmental and quality procedures and systems that protect Company staff and assets and meet their community responsibilities.
- Appearance and Image:
- Ensures self and staff are well presented through taking pride in the company uniform and observing personal hygiene standards and behavior's that enhance the company image.

- Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering or any related discipline. - - A minimum of 6 years of experience. - - Good standard of Written and Spoken English. - - Strong knowledge and understanding of finished products, raw material, spare parts and processes in own area. - - Strong knowledge of operating and safety procedures and standards. - - Ability to lead and work as part of a team. - - Intermediate-level planning and organizing skills. - - Strong problem solving capability. - - Strong customer focus. - - Computer literacy with advanced knowledge of MS Office modules.
