Reports to: Manager, Accelerator Program
Purpose: The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) Venture Lab (V-Lab) is the leading university-based startup accelerator/incubator in Africa and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, aiming to commercializing innovations that contribute to Egypt's competitiveness and economic growth. The job holder is responsible for working closely with more than ten startups per cycle, coaching them and monitoring their progress.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the selection of the startups going through their delivery and progress within the cycle and providing support until graduation
- Manage applications bi-yearly and score them according to V-Lab program guidelines
- Conduct Interviews to a selected number of applicants
- Monitor and analyze interaction of a number of V-Lab selection event participants
- Conduct meetings with selected startups and conduct needs assessment and set realistic goals
- Coach four to five startups per cycle to Implement evidence-based entrepreneurship tools
- Follow up on Startup fulfillment of milestones
- Follow up on The American University in Cairo’s V-Lab graduates' progress
- Collect information and write executive summaries on assigned startups
- Research topics and market gaps in different industries
- Plan and arrange V-Lab cycle events taking place on and off campus to keep entrepreneurs actively engaged in the program
- Stay updated on latest trends in entrepreneurship field and show ability to answer startups inquiries about the ecosystem
- Assist program manager in all other needed activities
- Perform any other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
Experience:
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience
- Two to three years of specialized experience

- Excellent Arabic and English Writing and Speaking Skills
- Highly organized

- Social and willing to meet new people and able to present V-Lab in different events
- Capable of multitasking and prioritizing
