- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial activities.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices, making payments, and ensuring vendor relations are maintained.
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, including invoicing clients and monitoring outstanding receivables to ensure timely collection.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing insights and variance analyses as needed
- Support the forecasting process by gathering data and collaborating with other departments.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Participate in the implementation and monitoring of internal control procedures to safeguard financial assets.
- Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits, ensuring all requested information is provided on time.
- Assist in the resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
- Work closely with team members and other departments to resolve issues and streamline accounting processes.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Prior Work Experience:1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the financial services or microfinance sector.Skills & Abilities:Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.Knowledge:Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, particularly in the microfinance or financial services sector.
