Mechanical Service Engineer

Job Summary: Commercial Vehicles Service Engineer specializing in diagnostics and repair of heavy-duty trucks. Responsible for identifying and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues in commercial vehicles, ensuring that they are properly maintained and repaired for optimal performance. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of diagnostic tools and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial vehicles, focusing on mechanical and electrical systems.

• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to detect faults and malfunctions.

• Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and detailed repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance.

• Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and services performed.

• Collaborate with the service team to resolve technical issues and ensure high-quality repairs.

• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, company standards, and industry regulations.

• Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and mechanics when needed.

• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend preventive maintenance solutions.

• Assist in managing parts inventory, ensuring necessary components are available for repairs and servicing.

• Perform software updates, calibration, and system reprogramming for modern vehicle systems.

• Communicate with customers to explain diagnostics results, repair processes, and time frames.

• Work closely with the procurement and operations teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely repairs.

• Participate in technical meetings and training sessions to stay updated with the latest technologies and advancements in commercial vehicle diagnostics.

 


 • Bachelor Degree in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.• 3-5 years of experience in diagnostics and repair of commercial vehicles.• Must have experience working with Mercedes and Volvo trucks.• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and systems such as OBD-II, electrical schematics, and vehicle software tools.• Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in commercial vehicles.• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Strong communication and organizational skills.
