Tahrir Campus Services Manager, Office of Operations Downtown

Reports to: Senior Director Tahrir Campus Operations


Purpose: The Tahrir Campus Services Manager is responsible for overseeing events support, food services, and housekeeping on the Tahrir Square campus. The job holder is responsible for establishing a strong customer-service culture through a cost-efficient, technology-enabled, streamlined one-stop-shop approach. He or She will actively engage and effectively communicate with all Tahrir campus stakeholders to prioritize campus services that are responsive to the AUC community.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Manage housekeeping and grounds cleaning services to ensure the Palace building, Hill House and Falaki are always in accordance with quality standards and in support of full range of events, activities and classes
  • Oversee event planning support team to ensure efficient system to respond to volume event traffic in Tahrir venues
  • Manage food vendors on the Tahrir campus to provide members of the AUC community and visitors a range of appropriate food options
  • Manage budgets related to events, housekeeping and food services
  • Coordinate with New Cairo teams on space reservation, event support and food to ensure consistent customer service and standards across AUC campuses
  • Develop stakeholder engagement mechanisms, and conduct surveys to guide service enhancement
  • Measure customer service across units and implement data-driven measures to strive for continuous improvement
  • Oversee the relevant housekeeping and other service contracts, and ensure their execution complies with the relevant university legal and procurement regulations as well as market standards
  • Oversee the performance of all vendors and third-party providers of campus services to ensure the best service, efficiency, fiscal responsibility, resource management and compliance with all AUC policies
  • Work in close partnership with the New Cairo Campus to provide quality campus services on the Tahrir Square campus and ensure the efficient utilization of resources and optimum use of the facilities
  • Assist in coordinating annual budgeting and planning processes and reviews all financial plans and budgets monitoring progress and changes
  • Prepare regular financial and budget reports
  • Initiate contact and follow up with external service providers and suppliers, performing all procurement and legal related procedures
  • Work collaboratively with all campus services functions, security and others to ensure a cohesive, client-centered approach
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree


Experience:

  • A minimum of seven to 10 years of experience within hospitality, client relations, event management, facilities management or related areas


Skills:

  • Knowledge of facility management areas, in particular housekeeping, food and event support
  • Understanding of standard KPI and client satisfaction measurements for range of services
  • Ability to use digital tools to track requests, response times and KPIs
  • Collaborative, team player who is able to work across functions and styles
  • Strong commitment to ensuring clean and well-maintained facilities
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong oral and written communication in English and Arabic
  • Excellent supervision and team-building skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively
