Position Overview:

The Head of Equity Trading will oversee all equity trading activities and manage a team of analysts and traders, ensuring alignment with the company’s investment objectives. The role involves strategic decision-making, trade execution, risk management, and the development of the trading team, focusing on equity markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

• Lead and mentor a team of technical analysts and traders focusing on equity markets.
• ⁠Assign daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, ensuring timely analysis and execution.
• Ensure effective communication between the team and other departments, such as the portfolio management and CIO office.
• Conduct performance reviews, offer guidance on strategy refinement, and ensure continuous development of team members' skills.

Trading Strategy and Execution:

• Develop and implement equity trading strategies, focusing on maximizing returns while managing risk.
• Oversee and approve all equity trades and ensure proper execution according to strategy.
• Monitor equity markets and identify opportunities for both short-term and long-term trades.
• Collaborate with technical analysts to refine trading signals and technical setups for optimal trading decisions.

Risk Management:

• Implement and maintain risk management protocols across the trading team.
• Ensure the team follows proper risk guidelines, including stop-loss strategies, position sizing, and portfolio exposure.
• Regularly review the team’s performance and adjust risk parameters as needed.

Technical and Market Analysis:

• Lead daily strategy sessions with the team, reviewing technical indicators, market conditions, and opportunities.
• Oversee sector-specific and market analysis, ensuring that the technical analysts’ work aligns with the broader strategy.
• Use insights from technical analysts to guide trading decisions and portfolio adjustments.

Reporting and Communication:

• Provide regular performance reports on the equity portfolio to senior management.
• Participate in weekly management meetings to discuss the broader market outlook and present key findings and opportunities from the team’s analysis.
• Ensure the team produces accurate daily and weekly reports summarizing market activity and trade execution.
