- Ensure transportation of staff in a comfortable, safe and timely manner within the areas of intervention of the Programme.
- Provide safe, timely and comfortable driving services for the staff and visiting delegations.
- Fully knowing the vehicle and its equipment.
- Knowing the local road network, being able to travel to the address, establishing alternative and escape routes if necessary, and to organise ahead the route plan for field trips and missions.
- Assist the Programme staff in carrying out simple administrative tasks (collecting proformas and invoices, collecting visas at MoIC, making small purchases and, especially, supporting the payment of insurance, inspection and licensing of vehicles).
- Take full care of the assigned vehicles and comply with their maintenance schedule.
- Check, daily, the general condition of the official vehicles to be driven.
- Assist, whenever possible, in identifying problems with the official vehicle, under its responsibility.
- Keep the vehicle clean.
- Properly manage and update the logbook regarding daily trips.
- Be responsible for the payment of fines for violation of the Egyptian Traffic Code.
- Assume the post at regular hours and maintain due discretion and reserved behavior regarding the
- activities of the job.
- Be prepared to provide upon request drug and alcohol tests.
- Support the Office with other tasks that may be required by the Programme Team Leader and the PMU staff.
Requirements
3.1 Education background
- High school diploma. Higher qualifications will be considered when matched with highly qualified professional experience in the sector of intervention.
3.2 Language skills
- Arabic native speaker.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken (B1 European Level). Italian will be considered.
3.3 Experiences and competences
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience as a driver.
- Age no older (at the time of signing the contract) than that required for retirement by local regulations.
- Be physically fit to carry out the required functions and annually undergo a health check.
- Have a valid type B driving license (at the time of signing the contract) which is within its validity period.
- Preferred requirements
Will be additionally considered the following preferred requirements:
- Higher degrees and qualifications in his/her educational studies than the minimum required.
- More than 3 years of relevant professional experience as a driver.
- Relevant professional experience with Italian and international organisations (UN, EU, Embassies).
- Have a valid type C driving license which is within its validity period.
- Teamwork and team building attitude, strategic and effective communicational skills.
