Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on construction sites.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Provide safety training and education to all employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop reports with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote a safety culture.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging safety trends.
 


Proven experience as a safety officerIn-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and proceduresKnowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practicesExperience in writing reports and policies for health and safetyFamiliarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statisticsProficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plusOutstanding organizational skillsDiligent with great attention to detailExcellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topicsBSc/BA in safety management, engineering, or a relevant field is preferredCertificate in occupational health and safety
