Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Architectural BIM Coordinator with 5-6 years of experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in engineering and construction, combined with a deep understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and tools. This role involves overseeing the development, coordination, and management of BIM models for architectural projects and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design and construction elements within the BIM environment. The position requires hands-on expertise in BIM technologies, advanced problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- BIM Model Development & Coordination:
- Manage and coordinate architectural BIM models across all project phases, from conceptual design through construction.
- Ensure models are accurate, clash-free, and adhere to project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform clash detection and resolution using tools such as Navisworks, Solibri, ACC, Revizto or equivalent.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-discipline teams, including structural, MEP, and civil engineers, to ensure effective coordination of all building systems.
- Serve as the main point of contact for BIM-related issues on architectural projects.
- Facilitate BIM coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Quality Control:
- Review and audit architectural BIM models to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
- Develop and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and best practices across the project lifecycle.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Generate and manage detailed documentation, including clash detection reports, model updates, and project progress reports.
- Produce drawings and detailed construction documents derived from BIM models.
- BIM Implementation & Support:
- Provide technical support and training to project teams on BIM tools, workflows, and standards.
- Assist in implementing and improving BIM workflows, automation, and digital construction strategies.
- Technology & Innovation:
- Stay updated with the latest BIM software developments, technologies, and trends within the industry.
- Explore new tools and techniques to improve model efficiency, project delivery, and design coordination.
Required Qualifications & Skills:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.Experience:5-6 years of experience in the AEC industry with a focus on architectural projects.Proven experience managing and coordinating BIM models in medium to large-scale projects.Software Proficiency:Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Revit for architectural modeling, Family Creation, and documentation.Proficiency in Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.Experience with BIM 360 or similar cloud-based collaboration tools.Proficiency in using Dynamo (visual programming tool for Revit) to automate repetitive tasks, optimize model performance, and enhance project workflows.Knowledge of creating custom scripts for data extraction, automated model updates, and clash detection resolution.Python and API Development is added valueExperience in using tools like Interoperability Tools, Solibri Model Checker for rule-based model checking and quality assurance.Expertise in using BIM 360 Docs, BIM 360 Design, or Autodesk Construction Cloud for cloud-based model collaboration, version control, and real-time project coordination.Familiarity with integrating point cloud data from laser scanning or 3D photogrammetry into Revit models is added valueFamiliarity with platforms like Synchro Pro or Vico Office for 4D/5D simulations to integrate time and cost aspects into the project model. Technical Skills:Strong understanding of architectural detailing, construction methods, and building systems.Familiarity with national and international BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650, COBie).Ability to establish and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and Modeling Protocols to ensure that projects meet required standards and client expectations.Project Management:Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating across disciplines.Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Problem-Solving:Ability to identify, assess, and resolve issues related to BIM models and project coordination.
