About Us:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Import Specialist to join our team.
This role is essential for managing our import operations efficiently and ensuring full compliance with international regulations.
You will be responsible for overseeing the entire import process, from purchase order execution to the clearance and delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and review Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained and POs are submitted to suppliers in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders to arrange the shipment of goods, ensuring transportation is both cost-effective and efficient.
- Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documents, including Proforma Invoice (PI), Commercial Invoice (CI), Bill of Lading (BL), Certificate of Origin (CO), Packing List (PL), ensuring all documentation complies with import regulations and company requirements.
- Utilize the Nafeza platform to handle all shipping documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Oversee the import clearance process, ensuring that goods are cleared promptly and in compliance with customs regulations, including preparing and submitting customs certificates, Form 4, and obtaining necessary authority approvals.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clearance agents to facilitate efficient goods clearance while minimizing costs.
- Collaborate with the finance department to process supplier payments, maintain accurate supplier Statements of Account (SOA), and ensure proper financial documentation.
- Maintain detailed records of all import activities, generating weekly and monthly reports to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Systematically file and archive all import documents for easy retrieval and regulatory compliance.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline the import process and identify potential new products for import.
Skills
A Bachelor’s degree is required; a major in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business or a related field is preferred.
Candidates with higher academic performance (GPA) will be given preference.
1-5 years of experience in import, exports or logistics.
Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with database management.
Experience with the Nafeza platform is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Incoterms and customs regulations is highly prioritized.
