Job Description:


  • Develop and continuously optimize the entire procurement and logistics processes.
  • Manages the processes efficiently and effectively, from planning, sourcing, request for quotation, negotiation, awarding, scheduling, process purchase orders, arrange for shipment, follow up on orders, delivery control and expediting the materials to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Analyses preliminary technical data, designs, and specifications to asses manufacturing limitations, suppliers’ facilities/capabilities, and availability of parts and equipment.
  • Ensures materials/services purchased are according to specifications, delivered on time, and within the assigned budget.
  • Negotiates and finalizes contracts with Vendors (suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers).
  • Vendors Approval (Performs vendor List evaluation) by evaluating Vendors’ experiences, capacities, quality, stability, reliability, etc. to prepare comprehensive lists of approved vendors.
  • Arranges and participates in conferences between vendors and project managers, technical engineers, purchasers, inspectors, and other company personnel to facilitate material inspection, substitution, standardization, rework, salvage, utilization, and economical procurement of parts and equipment installed in power plants.
  • The scope of work will include but not limited to: Wind Turbines, PV Modules, Inverter stations, Battery storage systems, Fixed mounting structures, single axis trackers, Power and distribution transformers, compact substations, MV primary switchgear, MV ring main units, LV switchboards, LV and MV power cables, DC cables, communication cables, communication systems (SCADA), Fibre optics, Lightning and earthing system components, Fire alarm/fire fitting systems, CCTV, etc.).
  • Tracks, and reports the progress of all procurement activities to the management.
  • Close follow-up, with technical and commercial functions, of the preparation of the RFPs, RFQs, time schedules, etc.
  • Assist in obtaining technical information and costs from manufactures, suppliers, subcontractors, service providers, etc. for main components.
  • Study and compare received offers/quotations and negotiate on both technical and commercial aspects of products/services.
  • Assist in the preparation of the project detailed cost breakdown.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones.
  • Maintain documentation, keep records, and maintain/update suppliers/ manufacturers/ subcontractors’ databases.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Participate in the creation of a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Participate in developing best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise junior procurement engineers, and influence them to take positive actions and accountability for their assigned Work.
