Inventory Accountant

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including purchases, sales, and adjustments General ledger.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze inventory reports to ensure accurate financial statements.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of inventory accounts to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze inventory costs and variances, providing insights to management for decision-making.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls related to inventory management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain, procurement, inventory and finance teams to streamline inventory processes.
  • Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Other various tasks as assigned

Required CompetenciesAnalytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring accuracy in inventory records and financial reports.Technical Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and reporting.Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of Accounting Principles: In-depth understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting practices. QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory accounting or a similar role in Real Estate or Construction Industry.Certifications: CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
