Sub Contracts Formation Section Head

Main Purpose Of The Job:

Manage and lead the contract formation section within the supply chain in accordance with the project subcontracting plan and the main contract conditions and obligations.


Job Responsibilities :

  • Study the project's main contract and prepare a map of the main contract obligations and risks and the corresponding proper flow down of those obligations to subcontractors, service providers and sub-suppliers.
  • Draft project standard templates for purchasing and subcontracting in compliance with the flow-down strategy extracted from the main contract and close gaps of the company’s obligations/liabilities exposure.
  • Coordinate the drafted standard templates with the Legal team, review and amend as needed until the approval and issuance.
  • Prepare and distribute orientation guidelines for the project teams on the Issued templates and the usage of each.
  • Receive regular feedback on the Issued forms from project teams and Internal functions and issue updates Incorporating lessons learned and corrections, If any, throughout the project life.
  • Participate/advise in the preparation of the project subcontracting plan.
  • Lead assigned team taking care of HR aspects, evaluation of performance and conflict resolution
  • Define gaps and recommend modifications to the procedures in relation with the contracts formation and the department reporting systems; to ensure that the systems allow the intended flow and control for the relevant activities.
  • Provide reports to the Supply Chain Manager including the status of all current subcontracting activates.
  • Receive and review requests from projects teams for the Issuance of project related subcontracts.
  • Receive and reply on subcontractor's contractual/legal clarifications and deviations on the RFQ.
  • Conduct/attend negotiation meetings with short listed subcontractors to resolve deviations. Report deadlocks, if any, to the project manager for final resolution.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in any discipline.
  • +12 years of experience in related field.
  • Solid background and expertise on EPC projects, specifically on Power Generation, transmission, water treatment and desalination, Oil/Gas, Utility and/or Infrastructure type projects.
