BIM Modeler

Job Overview:

A BIM Modeler for Structural, Architectural, and Interior Design specializing in hospitality projects is responsible for creating and managing detailed 3D models, ensuring coordination across various disciplines and producing accurate documentation for hotels, resorts, and other hospitality facilities. The BIM Modeler collaborates closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver high-quality, fully coordinated design models that meet client specifications and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. 3D Modeling and Drafting:
  • Develop detailed 3D models for structural, architectural, and interior elements using Revit or other BIM software.
  • Ensure the models reflect the specific requirements of hospitality projects, such as spatial design, layout, structural systems, and aesthetic considerations.
  • Create parametric families, details, and components as needed for hospitality design features, including luxury finishes, fixtures, and bespoke furniture.
  1. Interdisciplinary Coordination:
  • Collaborate with structural engineers, architects, and interior designers to integrate models and ensure all disciplines are aligned.
  • Conduct clash detection between structural, architectural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems using Navisworks or similar software.
  • Resolve any design discrepancies between disciplines to maintain consistency and quality in the final construction documents.
  1. Model Maintenance & Quality Assurance:
  • Maintain and update models throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with hospitality standards, building codes, and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks on the models to ensure they are accurate, coordinated, and up to date.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of BIM standards, templates, and processes specific to hospitality projects.
  1. Documentation & Drawing Production:
  • Produce accurate and detailed drawings from the 3D models, including floor plans, sections, elevations, and details for structural, architectural, and interior elements.
  • Prepare construction documentation that aligns with the design intent and specifications of hospitality clients.
  • Create schedules and quantities for materials, fixtures, and furniture, ensuring all design elements are accounted for in the hospitality context.
  1. BIM Coordination and Implementation:
  • Assist in the development and management of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) tailored for hospitality projects.
  • Ensure the model adheres to BIM protocols, data management standards (e.g., ISO 19650), and project-specific guidelines.
  • Support the project team with model-based simulations, including renderings, visualizations, and flythroughs to help the client and stakeholders visualize the hospitality design.
