Job Description
Misr El Kheir (MEK) Foundation is urgently hiring an experienced Field coordinator with a desire to work on Improving small-scale female farmers through establishing a Solar Dryer Unit for producing dried tomatoes, vegetables, and herbs and providing capacity building training to increase the agricultural value-added of tomatoes and reduce losses. The project is intended to improve the living standards of small-scale farmers in Luxor and Aswan Governorates. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and coordination of field activities related to the project, as well as monitoring, evaluation, and timely reporting to the project manager of any constraint with his suggestion to resolve field problems. You will work closely with project beneficiaries, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the project's objectives are met.
Tasks and responsibilities:
• Provide technical support to farmers and other project beneficiaries in implementing project activities.
• Facilitate organizing training sessions and workshops for project beneficiaries on different relevant topics.
• Ensure the timely and effective implementation of all agricultural productivity enhancement activities. This may involve overseeing the establishment of solar dryer Units, the distribution of agricultural inputs, and the training of farmers.
• Coordinate with local government agencies, agricultural extension workers, and other stakeholders to ensure the project is implemented efficiently and effectively.
• Coordinate with the project team, local stakeholders, and community members to plan and implement agricultural productivity enhancement activities. This will involve scheduling activities, assigning tasks to project staff, and communicating with stakeholders.
• Conduct field visits and provide regular feedback to the project management team on progress.
• Assist in the development and implementation of project monitoring and evaluation plans.
• Support the project management team in developing and implementing strategies to increase project impact and sustainability.
• Prepare regular project reports and contribute to the development of project proposals and other project-related documents
• A bachelor's degree in agriculture, • At least 3-5 years of experience in agricultural development, preferably in a field-based role.• Experience and practical knowledge of producing horticultural crops and their basic problems.• Knowledge of society work and awareness activities.• Working knowledge in the English and Arabic languages• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook). • Experience in report writing and data analysis.• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, and other stakeholders in a multicultural setting, with sensitivity and respect for diversity.• Good knowledge of agricultural production systems and practices, particularly in the project's focus areas.• Relevance and extent of experience in working with inter-governmental bodies and multi-disciplinary teams.• Good knowledge of agricultural production systems and practices, particularly in the project's focus areas.
