Job Summary:
The Distribution Retail Sales Manager is responsible for managing a team focused on driving sales and distribution of products to retail clients. This role involves developing and executing strategies to increase product visibility and sales within retail stores, fostering strong client relationships, and ensuring the successful placement and promotion of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the retail sector.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with retail clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives, providing guidance and support to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for product placement and promotion.
- Product Placement: Oversee the distribution of products to retail stores, ensuring optimal placement and display to maximize visibility and sales.
- Sales Reporting: Track and analyze sales performance metrics, prepare reports, and provide insights to senior management on sales activities and outcomes.
- Promotional Activities: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns and in-store events to drive product sales and brand awareness.
- Training and Development: Train team members on sales techniques, product knowledge, and best practices for client engagement and product distribution.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or challenges related to product distribution, client concerns, or team performance.
- Sales Operations: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and adjust as needed, oversee the sales pipeline, ensure timely follow-up on leads and opportunities, and implement and manage sales processes and best practices to optimize efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in retail distribution, or a similar role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a sales team.
- Excellent communication in English and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Analytical skills to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to commute/travel as needed to visit retail clients and oversee product placements.
