The project implements the German contribution to the international initiative Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) Grand Challenge. WE4F is a joint international initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).The project concentrates on five fields of action: strengthening the skills of the selected innovators, skills development for end users and multipliers, improving access to suitable financing, improving political and sectoral framework conditions, and strengthening exchange among specialists at the regional and global levels. The project is implemented in East and West Africa with a steering unit based in Bonn.
Ihre Aufgaben The intern will support the WE4F team in Bonn on a range of tasks, particularly in the field of project management, and communications:Project Management: •Contribution to general project management •Support office management, including the management of project files •Preparation, technical back-up and follow-up of team meetings •Support monitoring & evaluation processes •Support the preparation of (virtual) events Communications & Knowledge Management: •Support communication activities (including writing articles, producing website content, and social media posts) •Preparation of presentation materials •Support the preparation of knowledge & communications products (e.g. factsheets, infographics) •Support the maintenance and revisions of the Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) Portal on energypedia.info.During your internship you will gain an insight into the day-to-day business of a global project of GIZ and the international initiative Water and Energy for Food (WE4F).
Ihr Profil Bachelor degree in political science, environmental science, agriculture, economics or any other relevant subject. Practical experience in communications and/or knowledge management. Good knowledge on agriculture, energy and/or water. Very good oral and written communication skills (in German and English), confident in writing texts and in preparing topics conceptually for different target groups (general public, political management level, experts, etc.) Enjoy working in teams and in an intercultural organisation. Quick comprehension and stress resilience, pro-activeness. Interest in development cooperation is a prerequisite and international experiences in countries of the Global South is desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (at least C1) and good skills in German (at least B2). Good knowledge of French (at least B2) is desirable. Proficient usage of MS-Office programs (particularly Power Point, Excel, Teams).
