Description of task
Within The Delegated Authority And Under The Direct Supervision Of Economist, Development Coordination Officer Of RCO Or His/her Designated Mandated Representative(s), The UNV Research Analyst Will
Provide evidence-based Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) analysis in support of a shared understanding by the UN Country Team (UNCT) of sustainable development trends, challenges and opportunities;
Contribute to the development of the UNs Common Country Analysis (CCA).
Contribute substantive research, data analysis and analytical inputs to RCO knowledge products on sustainable development, including economic policy analysis.
Researches, analyzes, consolidates and presents SDG-related data, as well as information on emerging best practices in sustainable development, paying special attention to gender and capacity development, and proposes policy options.
Contribute towards finalization of knowledge products including organization of design and lay-out of the final knowledge products.
Assist in the organization of RCO events, webinars and stakeholder engagement, especially for knowledge products development and dissemination.
Contribute towards knowledge management activities and processes of the UN system in Egypt, especially related to knowledge produced related to socio-economic impacts of Covid-19.
Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:
Masters Degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Policy, or related field or equivalent.

Area of expertise: Political affairs and political reporting, Microeconomics, Other finance, economics and administration related experience Area of expertise details:
Masters Degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Policy, or related field or equivalent.
Knowledge and experience in working with statistical and econometric analysis softwares (Stata, R, MATLAB, Eviews, SPSS) will be an asset.
Good oral and written skills in English; good drafting, formulation, reporting skills in English;
Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
Have affinity with or interest in sustainable development and economic policy analysis volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
