Quality Assurance Supervisor

Supplier Management:

  • Manages and monitors supplier systems and procedures to ensure only the highest quality of food
  • products are provided to restaurants.
  • Conduct suppliers’ plant visits to evaluate products against the target sample program, verify
  • processes & equipment parameters, quality control effectiveness, review of Q.A. & process control
  • records, as well as plant conditions, equipment maintenance, sanitation programs
  • Develops, communicates, implements, and maintains a system that includes a corrective action
  • process for ensuring safe food products and/or holds the Supplier accountable for process and outcome.
  • Monitors approved suppliers to ensure they consistently comply with McDonald’s product
  • specifications and specifications for physical, chemical, and microbiological attributes.
  • Ensures product optimization in partnership with Suppliers.
  • Communicates and strictly monitors supplier performance to company policies (e.g. emerging issues, product specifications).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new products.
  • Work with suppliers to develop Q.A. programs for raw material selection and processing to improve
  • product quality awareness and consistency.
  • Identify and help suppliers reduce product costs through the use of improved processes and raw
  • materials.

Quality Systems Management:

  • Manages telephonic inquiries regarding product advice, raw product complaints, foreign objects,
  • health department regulations and food safety communications.
  • Defines requirements and assists in establishing and maintaining systems for new product food safety.
  • reviews, restaurant food safety standards, and restaurant food handling and sanitation procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Facilitates the resolution of food quality issues from restaurant operations, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Assist in establishing and conducting routine cuttings of local products with and without suppliers to
  • compare with target products, in addition to conducting regular scheduled ATCQ & BTCQ

 

Workflow Management:

  • Priorities activities and balances project workloads to maximize progress against key deliverables.
  • Leads and is accountable for population and maintenance of QA databases and master files.
  • Implements systems to streamline and gain efficiencies in accurate analysis and forecasting and
  • timely communication of processes (e.g. raw material pricing, volume and production requirements,
  • QCR etc.). Manages project plans for the implementation of these systems.
  • Manages Supply Chain commitments to promotional calendar.
  • Assists in developing business case summaries for initiatives.
  • Manages quality of supplier data systems / files.
  • Stays current with trends to determine and do benchmarking (e.g. commodity pricing, finished goods pricing).
  • Participates in and may drive formulation of company policies for emerging issues (e.g. animal
  • welfare, product ingredients).
  • Manages the QA Supplier Manual.
  • Coordinates and participates in special projects as needed.

 

People:

  • Role models the utilization of effective people systems within the Quality Assurance Department of
  • the Supply Chain Department (Selection, Performance Development System, Rewards and Recognition, etc.).
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with key customers and others.
  • Role models the utilization of effective people systems within the Supply Chain department
  • (Selection, Performance Development System, Rewards and Recognition, etc.).

 

Customer Support:

  • Provides assistance to the Customer Recovery Function to ensure customer complaints and enquiries regarding food and packaging are managed efficiently and effectively.
  • Develops, communicates, implements and maintains system for reporting, retrieval and trend analysis of customer complaints.
  • Collaborates with Operations Development to ensure the feasibility of a new platform to enable new
  • product entries into the restaurants.
  • Increase product quality awareness of management and store operational staff by training, store visit, and frequent quality updates & bundles

 

Health & Safety:

  • Proactively participates in the ongoing management of health and safety in the workplace by
  • performing all duties with due care to the health and safety of self and others within the guidelines of the relevant policies and procedures and by following reporting guidelines for accidents, hazards and potential hazards
  • Support training of Distribution Center personnel on Quality Inspection Program, product handling
  • procedures and follow up on implementation and adherence.
