Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.
Month-End and Year-End Close Processes:
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit schedules.
Team Management:
- Supervise and manage the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to ensure team members meet performance standards and professional growth goals.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team meets deadlines.
Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure the company’s financial practices comply with legal requirements, internal policies, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
Tax and Regulatory Filings:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, VAT, and other regulatory filings.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
Financial Analysis and Support:
- Provide financial analysis and support to management, including variance analysis, cost analysis, and profitability analysis.
- Assist in the evaluation of financial performance and provide insights for decision-making.
Systems and Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in the accounting department.
- Work with IT to ensure accounting systems meet the needs of the department and the company.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.Minimum of [12-15] years of experience in accounting, with at least [8] years in a supervisory or managerial role.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
