- Nursing Practice/Patient Care:
- Provide a high standard of nursing service within the hospital's policy
- Attend patients' rounds with assigned staff daily.
- Demonstrate advanced nursing care by applying evidence based care practice.
- Monitor quality of patient care on a continuous basis.
- Act as a clinical and administrative resource person for staff, must learn and teach new clinical practices.
- Prepare monthly staff schedules, ensuring staffing levels and skills must meet patient care needs in the absence of the head nurse.
- Assist Head Nurse to provide in-service and unit / floor orientation in collaboration with nursing education team.
- Apply international patient safety goals accurately.
1.2 management
- Process leaves requests in a timely manner and in accordance with hospital policy and nursing supervisor in the absence of the head nurse.
- Oversee the effective, efficient use of equipment and materials.
- Counsel staff as necessary, verbally and in writing maintaining the necessary documentation in the absence of the Head Nurse.
- Ensure staff implements the procedures for charging patients in the required time frame.
- Maintain unit records on clinical and other data and submit reports.
- Assist the Head Nurse to accomplish routine safety checks and monitor preventive maintenance of all medical equipment in the unit/floor.
- Be familiar with most common policies and procedures.
- Has the authority to discipline staff for certain misdemeanors according to hospital policy in the absence of the Head Nurse.
- Is directly responsible for the supervision of the staff nurses, nurse aides on a daily basis in the absence of the Head Nurse.
1.3 Professional Development:
- Establish special clinical pathways with the collaboration of Education Department to manage specific conditions in the unit.
- Ensure compulsory educational lectures are attended by self and staff in the unit.
- Attend management in – service lectures.
- Assist the Head Nurse to identify the educational needs of staff and coordinates with the nursing education Department.
- Commitment to JCI requirement.
B.SC. of Nursing.Must be registered with the Egyptian Syndicate or Nursing Council / Association of country of origin. Valid profession practicing license.
