The Retail Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in retail studies to secondary school students. The role involves planning and delivering lessons that cover various aspects of the retail industry, including customer service, sales techniques, retail operations, supply chain, marketing, and merchandising. The Retail Teacher aims to prepare students for careers in the retail sector or further education in business and retail management.
Key Responsibilities:Lesson Planning and Delivery:Assessment and Evaluation:Classroom Management:Collaboration and Communication:Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school curriculum and industry standards.Teach students about the principles and practices of retail, including customer service, sales, inventory management, and merchandising.Use a variety of instructional techniques and materials to engage students and facilitate learning.Assess students' progress through assignments, exams, and practical activities.Provide feedback to students on their performance and offer guidance on areas for improvement.Maintain accurate records of students' grades and progress.Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.Address any issues related to student conduct or academic performance in a timely and professional manner.Work closely with other teachers, school administrators, and industry partners to develop and improve the retail studies program.Participate in school events, teachers’ meetings, and other extracurricular activities.Qualifications:Education:Experience:Skills:Knowledge:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Retail Management, or a related field.Industry experience in retail or business is highly desirable.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to engage and motivate secondary school students.Strong organizational and time-management abilities.Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for teaching.In-depth knowledge of the retail industry, including current trends and best practices.
