Job Overview:
The Construction Manager will be responsible for the management of the construction site in order to achieve required project delivery to the customers’ objectives, whilst maintaining standards of health and safety, quality environmental impact and cost control. They will deliver projects to specified quality, the required programme and to the maximum commercial performance. The post-holder will work closely with the commercial department, engineers and surveyors to ensure that the projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.
Job Description:
- Responsible for enabling construction activities required from the strategy, including design and integration.
- Review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Ensure project handover is completed to required timescales & delivery milestones.
- Monitor compliance with building and safety regulations for both onsite and offsite constructions.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Manage construction risk & opportunities effectively - take responsibility for the identification, allocation & management of the construction risk & opportunities, taking effective mitigation measures to reduce on site risk.
- Ensure team are focused to meet customer’s requirements & project objectives – provide overall guidance & management to ensure project success.
- Select tools, materials, and equipment, and track inventory.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Prepare internal and external reports related to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and proper construction techniques.
Experience: 10 to 14 years of relevant experience in construction management. Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Architecture discipline).Graduated from a governmental institution is preferred.
