Project Engineer (Abu Dhabi Based)

Job Purpose

To implement and provide technical solutions for projects, including fit-outs, renovation and other project works throughout various sites, and liaise with the contractors as required, in order to ensure the technical project work is successfully completed in a timely and efficient manner as per the project plan.


Key Accountabilities

Strategy Contribution and Implementation

  • Contribute to the development of the departmental strategy and ensure effective cascading of departmental strategy into section’s policies and procedures in line with the overall business objectives of the technical department.
  • Contribute to Business Development by reviewing technical evaluation, scoping, resourcing and pricing of proposals for successful submission to ensure business growth.


Project Planning

  • Prepare project briefs, project scope / objectives, quality plans and submit it to the line manage for review, in order to ensure they are technically accurate, and the project requirements are met.
  • Review shop drawings for compliance to specifications and provide technical inputs where necessary, in order to ensure alignment to the standards and enable provision of approvals


Project Implementation

  • Implement and roll out projects in Enova such as fit-outs, renovations, etc. and monitor the progress on a regular basis to ensure the project plan, resources and budgets are being adhered to and highlight any inconsistencies to the line manager for appropriate action
  • Carry out the handover of completed projects to clients / Operations team in order to effectively transfer testing and commissioning certificates, built drawings and all applicable documentation
  • Ensure the project objectives such as efficiency, cost savings, energy conservation, operator convenience, safety, environmental quality, in addition to estimating relevance, time, and costs, are met
  • Carry out the commissioning process, including witness testing, in order to check, inspect and test every operational component of a project


Project Management Documentation

  • Draft project related documents such as bill of quantities (BOQ), project progress and milestones achievement reports, resource utilization, budget variances, etc. to ensure services are effectively delivered and accurately administrated and to enable the line manager to take informed decisions.
  • Comply with / support the company asset management strategy applicable for its contract


Technical Expertise

  • Provide technical expertise to the project teams on the improvement of operational quality results through process re-design, in addition to overseeing the identification of operational problems and priorities by assessing relevant objectives in order to enable continuous improvement of processes and ways of operating
  • Anticipate operational problems by studying operating targets, system functioning and performance results, modes of operation, unit limitations and by monitoring unit performance in order to minimize the occurrence of issues and to enable smooth execution of projects]
  • Provide operational management information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operating and engineering data and trends in order to enable improvement in processes and adopting of best practices


Internal and External Relations

  • Develop a pro-active working relationship with all relevant internal and external parties and assist in establishing areas for service improvement, in addition to participating in meetings with client and contractor and providing technical assistance to Operation if required in order to provide suitable inputs when required


Related Assignments

  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.


Qualifications, Experiences, & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 4 – 8 years of experience in Project Management / Building Energy Services
  • Good understanding of electro mechanical installations; design; commissioning in terms of design requirements and permits; reasonable understanding of Civil works like block works, ceiling and flooring works, painting, finishes, and services coordination; knowledge of high voltage systems.
  • Holds basic know how in Civil engineering.
  • Planning and coordination.
  • Microsoft Word/Excel/Power point.
  • Skills shall include know how in planning and drafting software such as Primavera, AutoCAD…etc.
  • Tendering and Quantity Surveying experience is a must.
