An Import Logistics Specialist is responsible for overseeing the process of importing goods. This includes researching and obtaining necessary documentation, preparing customs declarations and other paperwork, and coordinating with vendors and other parties to ensure a smooth and timely import process.
- Handling Import Air & sea shipments on EXW basis deliveries ensuring that goods are shipped in the most time & efficient manner.
- Approach carriers to get best shipping quotations , negotiate on freight cost to minimize cost & get highest tier service.
- Liaise with shipping lines / forwarders to place booking , shipping instructions & handle full shipment operation processes till arrival at our warehouse.
- Communicate with local banks to prepare & execute overseas wire transfers / LCs Application & handle entire documentation process till receiving form 4 document.
- Communicate & follow up with overseas suppliers to plan & ship our seasonal orders to meet fashion stores stock requirements on time.
- Arrange & handle all shipping documents ( BL , COO , PL & CI ) within agreed timeframe through Nafeza.
- Communication with clearance agents to clear goods from custom ports.
Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field.3 to 6 years’ experience in import, shipping lines or Freight forwarding & preferably retail business.Good knowledge & experience in custom clearance.Good knowledge of Import regulations.Ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines.Ability to negotiate & communicate at all levels.MS office proficiency.
