Senior Accountant – Cost Management and Stock Controllership

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant specializing in cost management and stock controllership to join our dynamic finance team. This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing our cost accounting processes and ensuring accurate and efficient stock control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

- **Cost Management: **

  - Safeguard our cost accounting structure and procedures.

  - Monitor and analyze cost variances, providing actionable insights to management.

  - Prepare detailed cost reports, forecasts, and budgets.

  - Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to manage and control costs.

 

- **Stock Controllership: **

  - Oversee and manage inventory accounting processes.

  - Ensure accurate recording and valuation of inventory.

  - Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliations.

  - Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies.

  - Work with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize stock levels and turnover.

 

- **Financial Reporting and Analysis: **

  - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to cost and inventory.

  - Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

  - Support the preparation of financial statements and external audits.

 

- **Compliance and Internal Controls: **

  - Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

  - Maintain and enhance internal controls related to cost and inventory management.

  - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes.

 


- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced accounting qualification is a plus.- Minimum of 4 years of experience in cost accounting, inventory management, or a related role.- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo is a plus).- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. **Preferred Skills:**- Experience in a manufacturing or a retail environment.- Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools.
