Technical Office Electrical Engineer

A technical office electrical engineer is responsible for the technical aspects of electrical systems within a construction project, typically working in an office setting. They provide support throughout the project lifecycle, from the bidding stage to handover.

Responsibilities: -

  • Studying project documents like drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities (BOQs) to understand project requirements.
  • Participating in the tendering process, which involves reviewing tender documents, identifying missing information, and preparing requests for clarification from the client.
  • Designing electrical systems, sizing equipment, and creating BOQs for design-build tenders.
  • Assisting in preparing technical submittals and negotiating them with the client.
  • Preparing technical documents like shop drawings and as-built drawings to ensure electrical systems comply with project specifications and standards.
  • Reviewing and approving shop drawings submitted by subcontractors.
  • Managing the procurement process, including quantity surveying and preparing material requisitions.
  • Monitoring subcontractor progress and ensuring their work meets quality standards.
  • Preparing change orders to account for project modifications.
  • Staying up-to-date on electrical codes and standards.
  • Communicating effectively with project stakeholders like consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Contributing to project reports.
  • Plays a vital role in ensuring the electrical aspects of a construction project are designed, procured, installed, and commissioned according to plan.

BSC in Electrical Engineering.3-5 years’ previous experience.Strong understanding of electrical principles and applicationsVery good English language (Speaking and Writing).Strong research skills.Very good analysis and reporting skills.Continuous learning and development interest.
