The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting the health and well-being of our employees, ensuring a safe working environment, and managing occupational health programs. As the Occupational Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to employees, performing occupational medicine-related activities, and supporting the administration in various occupational health-related endeavors. This position requires expertise in clinical occupational medicine, sick leave management, health risk assessment, injury classification, first aid, and non-clinical administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Occupational Health Assessments and Clinical Practice
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments for employees, focusing on work-related risks and potential health issues.
- Provide expert guidance on preventive measures and interventions to optimize employee health and safety.
- Conduct thorough medical evaluations and examinations of employees, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment of occupational health conditions.
- Provide primary care services and manage acute and chronic illnesses, while considering occupational factors
- Injury and Illness Management
- Manage and treat work-related injuries and illnesses, collaborating with healthcare professionals as needed.
- Develop and implement return-to-work programs to facilitate employees' smooth transition back to their duties.
- Manage sick leave cases, including evaluating fitness for work and providing appropriate medical support.
- Workplace Hazard Evaluation
- Assess workplace environments for potential hazards and recommend measures to mitigate risks.
- Advise on ergonomic improvements and occupational health strategies to enhance overall workplace safety.
- Health Promotion and Education
- Develop and implement health promotion initiatives to foster a culture of well-being among employees.
- Conduct educational sessions on occupational health topics, ensuring employees are well-informed about preventive measures.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Stay current with occupational health regulations and ensure the hospital's/clinic’s compliance with relevant standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and authorities to address any occupational health-related inquiries
- Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and safety officers, to ensure a holistic approach to employee health and safety.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss and address occupational health concerns
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of occupational health assessments, interventions, and employee health status.
- Generate reports on occupational health metrics, providing insights for continuous improvement
