About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to own our day-to-day accounting operations and produce accurate, timely financial reports. You will work hands-on in Odoo, prepare the balance sheet and P&L, and give management the numbers it needs to make decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full accounting cycle: journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, bank and account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet and profit and loss statement.
Analyze P&L results, explain variances against budget and prior periods, and flag issues to management.
Maintain and configure the Odoo accounting module: chart of accounts, taxes, journals, analytic accounts and financial reports.
Build advanced Excel models and reports (pivot tables, lookups, financial analysis) to support budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
Ensure compliance with Egyptian accounting standards and tax requirements, including VAT and withholding tax, and support internal and external audits.
Review the work of junior accountants and guide them where needed.
Improve accounting processes and internal controls to reduce errors and speed up closing.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Commerce (a professional certificate such as CMA, ACCA or CPA is a plus).
[5+] years of accounting experience, with at least [2] years in a senior role.
Advanced hands-on experience with Odoo Accounting (not just basic data entry).
Strong ability to prepare and analyze balance sheets and P&L statements.
Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, complex formulas, and data analysis.
Solid knowledge of Egyptian tax and accounting regulations.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and the ability to work to deadlines.
Good written and spoken English and Arabic.
Must live in or near 6th of October or Sheikh Zayed City.
Nice to Have
Experience with Odoo customization or reporting tools.
Experience in [industry, e.g. manufacturing / trading / services].
Experience with budgeting and cash-flow forecasting.
