Objective: Planning, directing, and overseeing all feed manufacturing operations (poultry, animal), ensuring production plans are met with the required quality, on time, with maximum operational efficiency and minimum cost, while strictly adhering to occupational and health safety standards. The following are the main tasks and responsibilities:
- Operational Planning and Scheduling:
Develop weekly, monthly, and annual production plans in coordination with the Sales and Procurement departments to meet market demands.
Determine actual raw material requirements (corn, soy, concentrates, additives) and packaging materials to ensure uninterrupted production lines.
Allocate and distribute human resources and equipment across different shifts efficiently and flexibly. - Daily Supervision and Operations:
Monitor manufacturing stages from receiving and unloading grains, through grinding, mixing, pressing, cooling, to packaging and loading.
Monitor the performance of machinery and equipment (presses, boilers, mixers) to ensure they operate within standard operating parameters.
Immediately intervene to resolve manufacturing issues or operational bottlenecks in production lines to prevent time wastage. - Quality Control and Compliance with Feed Formulations:
Strictly adhere to feed formulations and recipes issued by the Technical Support or nutrition experts without altering mixing ratios.
Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) department to conduct periodic sampling and monitor physical feed characteristics (hardness, PDI, moisture, particle size).
Isolate any non-compliant batches and take immediate corrective actions. - Preventive Maintenance and Occupational Safety:
Coordinate with Maintenance (mechanical and electrical) to prepare and implement preventive maintenance programs and periodic plans to avoid sudden breakdowns.
Enforce strict Occupational Health and Safety (HSE) standards within the plant to protect workers from risks such as dust, fire, and moving machinery.
Ensure cleanliness of storage silos and production lines to prevent cross-contamination and spoilage. - Cost Management and Waste Reduction:
Monitor and reduce waste of raw materials or finished feed during various production stages.
Lower manufacturing costs by optimizing energy consumption rates (electricity, steam, fuel) per ton of feed.
Manage inventory of fast-moving spare parts for production lines (e.g., dies and rollers). - Team Leadership and Development:
Directly supervise engineers, supervisors, technicians, and workers, and conduct periodic performance evaluations.
Identify training needs for the team to enhance their efficiency in operating modern systems (e.g., SCADA/PLC automated control systems).
Prepare and submit daily and periodic reports to senior management, including actual production quantities, waste ratios, fault rates, and energy consumption. - Coordination with Sales and Marketing:
Schedule production based on sales forecasts to ensure product availability in warehouses in required quantities and avoid feed shortages in the market.
Flexibly respond to special requests: provide technical capabilities to manufacture 'special orders' or quantities for key accounts with specific customer-requested specifications.
Resolve customer complaints: address sales-related complaints regarding product quality (e.g., crumbling pellets, discoloration, or odor) and reinforce the production line to resolve the issue, providing a technical report to support sales efforts with the customer.
Expand production lines and evaluate and implement new technologies to align with the company’s geographical expansion plans and market entry strategies. Conduct feasibility studies for senior management on modern manufacturing technologies such as extrusion, pelleting, and fermentation to enhance plant operations.
Process automation and mechanization: Automate intermediate processes to reduce costs and effort, enhance the company’s competitive advantage in the market, and enable better pricing.
Develop new products (R&D): Collaborate with Marketing and nutrition experts to manufacture trial samples of improved feeds or new additives and test their manufacturing efficiency before market launch.
Provide competitive advantage (Quality Visuals): Ensure the external appearance of feed (uniform color, shine, clean and secure packaging) – the physical appearance of feed is the first tool to attract customers. Highlight components, techniques, blends, and pricing.
Host delegations and key customers: Prepare the plant and production lines for visits by key customers and distributors (Plant Tours) organized by Marketing, showcasing adherence to international quality and biosafety standards, thereby enhancing brand perception.
Qualifications and Required Conditions:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences (Animal Production, Poultry, or Food Manufacturing) or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical).
- Professional Experience: Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in feed mills, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with modern feed manufacturing technology, boiler and press operation, and automated control systems (PLC).
- Languages and IT: Proficiency in English (for reading catalogs and dealing with equipment manufacturers), and good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
