Mechanical Design Engineer
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and constraints.- Design sheet metal products and components using CAD software (such as Solid Works, Auto CAD, or similar tools).- Develop detailed drawings, models, and prototypes for manufacturing.- Conduct feasibility studies and analyze design proposals for cost-effectiveness, functionality, and manufacturability.- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve design-related issues during production.- Perform design iterations and improvements based on feedback and testing results.- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sheet metal design.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.- Proven experience as a Design Engineer in the sheet metal industry.- Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, Auto CAD, or similar tools).- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including bending, cutting, welding, and finishing.- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and codes related to sheet metal design.- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work.- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural analysis of sheet metal components.- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
