About the Job:
Body Shop Production Engineer is responsible for the implementation of production processes related to assigned Body welding Line, by leading Line team leaders and operators to achieve production KPIs according to standards. Candidate shall demonstrate strict adherence to safety protocols, high-quality process possible, ensuring no dimensional or welding defect is built in Body Shop line.

Responsibilities: Safety:Enforce a strict safety culture in a high-risk environment involving robotics, high-voltage equipment, hoists and welding operations. Ensure full compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for him and his team. Enforce a zero-tolerance policy for bypassing safety controls on robotics and welding equipment. Partner with the Safety & Environmental team to manage and mitigate risks associated with production processes. People:Lead, train, and mentor production team leaders and welding technicians in all production aspects including safety awareness and productive maintenance. Manage his team and evaluate their performance on a regular basis. Quality:Monitoring the real-time CMM, weld validation, dimensional control, and error-proofing on daily basis and apply process control techniques thru his team as per standards. Fast response to any feedback from quality gates and/or quality audit to contain and close issues properly. Work directly with the Quality team and ME team to resolve dimensional variation, welding defects, and equipment capability issues. Productivity:Achieve the daily production schedule for his responsible model line, managing the line to achieve takt time. Maximize equipment uptime and availability by working closely with the Maintenance team. Drive efficiency in the framing, welding, and metal finish processes by identifying and eliminating waste. Cost:Optimize consumable usage (welding wire, gas) and reduce scrap/rework to minimize cost. Control proper usage of PPEs to optimize the consumption rate.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Welding) or a related field.1-3 years of experience in an automotive Production Body Shop. Strong technical knowledge of spot welding, bonding technologies, and geometric dimensioning is essential. Experience with CKD body assembly processes (working with pre-formed sub-assemblies). Proficiency in reading and interpreting CMM reports to drive dimensional improvements. A strong understanding of maintenance and reliability principles for automated equipment.
