Senior Software Tester Automation Engineer (Banking Background)
Summary/Purpose:The Senior Software Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation solutions for banking applications while ensuring high software quality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. This role requires strong expertise in automation frameworks, software engineering, API and UI automation, CI/CD integration, and banking domain knowledge. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to drive automation best practices and continuously improve testing efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable test automation frameworks and scripts for banking applications. Define and implement automation testing strategies, standards, and best practices aligned with banking compliance requirements. Develop and execute automated functional, regression, integration, performance, and data-driven tests to improve software quality and coverage. Optimize automation frameworks and test scripts for performance, stability, and maintainability across multiple environments. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with Dev Ops teams to support continuous testing and deployment. Identify, track, and resolve defects while working closely with developers and business analysts to enhance software reliability. Ensure automation solutions comply with banking security, regulatory, and risk management standards. Mentor automation engineers, drive process improvements, and evaluate emerging automation tools and technologies.
Must-have Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.- 5+ years of experience in software automation testing, including at least 3 years of hands-on automation engineering experience.- Strong experience in developing custom automation frameworks using Selenium, Appium, Test NG, or Cypress.- Expertise in writing scalable test scripts using Java, Python, Java Script, or other programming languages.- Experience integrating test automation with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or Azure Dev Ops.- Proficiency in API testing tools like Postman or Rest Assured.- Experience working in Agile and Dev Ops environments with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) approaches.- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize test automation for efficiency and performance.
