Role Description The Steel Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Markaz El Wasta. The person in this role oversees daily steel production operations, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring manufacturing activities to meet quality, safety, and output targets. Key responsibilities include supervising production teams, optimizing use of materials and equipment, enforcing safety and maintenance standards, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures. The Steel Production Manager also analyzes production data, addresses operational issues, and collaborates with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to improve efficiency and reduce downtime. In addition, this role contributes to budgeting, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to support sustainable, high-performance operations.
Qualifications
Strong background in steel manufacturing or heavy industrial production, with experience managing day-to-day plant operations. Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet output and quality goals. Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations applicable to steel or metal processing environments. Experience with quality control practices, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Demonstrated leadership skills, including team supervision, performance management, and coaching in a production setting. Ability to interpret technical drawings, process documents, and production reports, and make data-driven decisions. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively to operational issues, equipment failures, and production delays. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, quality, and supply chain. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Comfort working on-site in an industrial environment in Markaz El Wasta, with flexibility for shift work if required.
