Manager, Ops. Support Manager (HRBP Manager)

Anglo Gold Ashanti acquired the Sukari gold mine in Egypt through the acquisition of Centamin plc in November 2024. Sukari is owned in partnership with the Egyptian Government.

Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements.

The Role

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) Manager acts as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning HR initiatives with organizational objectives to improve business performance, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and workforce capability. This role supports leaders across all people-related matters, including talent management, workforce planning, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, and change management. Strategic HR Partnership: Partner with department heads and business leaders to translate priorities into actionable HR initiatives. Provide strategic advice on workforce planning, organizational structure, talent needs, and people risks while driving organizational transformation. Talent Management & Succession Planning: Lead talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development. Identify high-potential employees, manage development planning, and monitor talent pipelines for critical role readiness. Performance Management: Drive performance management cycles across assigned business units. Coach managers on goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement plans while ensuring consistency and fairness. Employee Relations: Proactively manage complex employee relations matters with the support of the HR Services team, and provide coaching to managers on people management practices. Workforce Planning & Organizational Development: Collaborate with leaders on headcount planning, resource optimization, and workforce trend analysis. Support organizational design, restructuring, and role clarity initiatives. Employee Engagement & Culture: Foster a positive workplace culture by supporting initiatives that enhance employee engagement, company values, diversity, and inclusion. HR Analytics & Reporting: Utilize HR metrics to analyze turnover, engagement, and headcount trends, identifying risks and recommending proactive HR interventions. The Requirements
Education & Certifications:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional HR certification is preferred (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, or HRCI). Experience:12–15 years of progressive HR experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically as an HR Business Partner. Proven experience supporting senior leadership and managing organizational change initiatives. Prior experience working within multinational companies is required. Knowledge & Skills:Comprehensive understanding of HR processes, best practices, and labor laws applicable to the mining industry. Strong strategic partnering, business acumen, stakeholder management, and influencing skills. Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, conflict resolution, and leadership advisor skills. Strong expertise in organizational development, change management, workforce planning, and manpower analysis.
