Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior QS Civil Tendering Engineer will be responsible for managing quantity surveying and tendering activities for civil and construction projects, including cost estimation, quantity take-off, pricing, tender analysis, subcontractor coordination, and preparation of commercial and technical proposals to support successful project bidding and cost control.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for civil and construction works based on drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Analyze tender documents, project requirements, specifications, and contract conditions.
- Prepare cost estimates, pricing sheets, and tender submissions for civil projects.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and evaluate commercial offers.
- Prepare and review BOQs, material quantities, and cost breakdown structures.
- Participate in technical and commercial tender evaluations and clarifications.
- Review project scope changes and assess commercial impacts during tender stages.
- Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives during bidding phases.
- Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, and estimation teams to ensure accurate tender submissions.
- Prepare tender reports, bid analysis summaries, and management presentations.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, tender requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Assist in preparing subcontract packages, contracts, and commercial comparisons.
- Maintain updated databases for unit rates, suppliers, subcontractors, and historical project costs.
- Support pre-contract negotiations and post-tender clarifications when required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 7 - 10 years of experience in quantity surveying and tendering for civil/construction projects.
- Proven experience in infrastructure, residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use projects.
- Strong experience in quantity take-off, cost estimation, tendering, and BOQ preparation.
- Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project scope analysis.
- Strong knowledge of pricing, cost control, subcontractor evaluation, and procurement coordination.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and commercial management practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Primavera, and quantity surveying/tendering software.
- Strong analytical, commercial, negotiation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and work under tight deadlines.
