Mackay currently has an opening for a experienced Marine Service Engineer (MSE) with the skills and qualifications outlined below for our Port Said location.
Marine Service Engineer Job Summary:Under limited supervision, Marine Service Engineers (MSTs) are responsible for traveling to the location of the vessel to install, service, and repair electronic and communication equipment onboard commercial ships. MSEs test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as loading, updating, and modifying software. They utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems and make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completion of the service work, our technicians compose a detailed service report.
Types of equipment serviced:Radars ECDISSatcoms HF and VHF Radios GPSGyrocompasses Autopilots Sounders Marine Service Engineer Requirements:3+ Years of MET, ET or AT experience acquired in the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines a plus.3+ Years of experience as a MSE, MET, or ET in commercial shipping. University Degree or equivalent education, training, and experience. Possess any country or location specific required licenses, certifications, or knowledge. PC proficiency. Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application. Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred. Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 50 +/- lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
