What will I be doing? As the Duty Engineer, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
• Ensures that engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including general property maintenance energy conservation, are working properly and to standard.
• Develops Engineering Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering, as required for hotel standards.
• Performs day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within the hotel rooms.
• Responds promptly and efficiently to any maintenance calls that arise.
• Executes the preventative maintenance schedule and ensures all equipment and designated areas are maintained to the required standard.
• Keeps the hotel’s Assistant Chief Engineer informed of progress of all jobs in order to control cost effectiveness in work assignments and availability of manpower.
• Assists in the handling of emergencies in order to ensure responsible back up in taking corrective acts in a safe and efficient manner.
• Coordinates and supervises the work of service contractors to ensure that the terms of all such contracts for all equipment and systems are fully implemented.
• Responsible for training employees to improve working skills, enabling them to work with maximum efficiency.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations with employees, guiding and training employees to be competent for higher positions.
• Works with management and Team Members, as well as outside support, to develop and maintain a continuing atmosphere of Guest and Team Members’ comfort and safety.
• Be willing to work any day of the week on a Shifting schedule and long hours when necessary.
• Assists in the implementation of energy conservation program.
• Maintains all tools, equipment, and working areas in good condition.
• Keeps technical knowledge and skills up to date.
• Perform any other reasonable duties and duties as assigned.

• Proficient in English to meet business needs.
• Knowledgeable of hotel electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Familiar with hotel engineering equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
