Job Summary:The Production Director is responsible for end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance across all production stages of blankets and textile products. The role leads production strategy, capacity utilization, operational excellence, and workforce productivity while aligning production output with commercial demand and quality standards.
Job Description:1. Production Strategy & Capacity Management:Define and execute the production strategy aligned with sales demand and business growth. Plan and optimize capacity across spinning, weaving/knitting, dyeing, finishing, and packing. Balance production volumes with seasonal demand and export requirements. Lead capital investment planning for machinery and automation.
2. Manufacturing Operations:Oversee daily production operations to achieve targets for output, quality, cost, and delivery. Monitor production KPIs and resolve bottlenecks. Ensure efficient manpower utilization and shift planning. Coordinate closely with Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial teams.
3. Operational Excellence & Cost Control:Drive lean manufacturing, TQM, Six Sigma, and 5S initiatives. Reduce waste, scrap, rework, and energy consumption. Optimize standard costing and improve manufacturing margins. Improve equipment uptime and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance:Ensure compliance with quality standards and certifications. Enforce health, safety & environment (HSE) standards. Reduce accidents and safety incidents. Support audits and customer inspections.
5. People Leadership & Capability Building:Lead production managers, supervisors, and technical teams. Build a high-performance production culture. Oversee training, skill development, and succession planning. Manage labor relations in coordination with HR. Handle any other tasks related to the role.
Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Textile, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering. MBA or Operations Management certification preferred.15–20 years of experience in textile manufacturing. Strong background in blankets / home textiles / fabrics. Proven leadership of large industrial workforces High integrity, independence, and analytical capability.
