Job Title: Senior Procurement Specialist Department: Supply Chain Reporting To: Supply Chain Manager Location: 10th of Ramadan, Sharkia, Egypt (On-site)
Job Summary The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the organization’s procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and quality-compliant acquisition of raw materials, spare parts, machinery, services, and operational supplies required for business operations. This role plays a critical function in optimizing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, developing supplier relationships, and ensuring adherence to procurement policies and financial controls. The Senior Procurement Specialist also supports strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier performance management, and cost-reduction programs while maintaining compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Operations Execute procurement processes for raw materials, production supplies, spare parts, machinery, and services. Review and validate purchase requisitions received from various departments. Identify suitable suppliers based on technical specifications, cost, quality, and delivery capability. Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and Requests for Information (RFIs). Analyze supplier quotations and prepare comparative statements for management approval. Generate and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
2. Strategic Sourcing Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and sourcing opportunities. Develop sourcing strategies to reduce procurement costs and improve supplier reliability. Participate in supplier selection, evaluation, and qualification processes. Support long-term sourcing initiatives and framework agreements.
3. Supplier Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, pricing, and service. Conduct supplier performance evaluations and recommend improvements or replacement if necessary. Resolve supplier disputes related to quality, delivery delays, or pricing issues.
4. Negotiation & Contract Management Lead price negotiations and commercial discussions with suppliers. Secure the best possible commercial terms including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and warranties. Review and manage supplier contracts and agreements. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
5. Cost Control & Value Optimization Identify cost reduction opportunities through supplier consolidation, alternative sourcing, and value engineering. Analyze purchasing trends and spending patterns. Support budgeting and cost forecasting related to procurement.
6. Coordination with Internal Departments Work closely with production, maintenance, warehouse, planning, and finance teams to ensure procurement requirements are aligned with operational needs. Coordinate with the technical office or engineering team for technical specifications and approvals. Support inventory optimization by aligning procurement with production planning.
7. Compliance & Procurement Governance Ensure procurement activities comply with company procurement policies and procedures. Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records. Ensure compliance with internal audit and financial control requirements. Follow ethical procurement practices and avoid conflicts of interest.
8. Reporting & Procurement Analytics Prepare procurement reports related to spending, supplier performance, savings initiatives, and procurement KPIs. Maintain procurement databases and vendor records. Support management with analytical insights to improve procurement efficiency.
Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:· Supply Chain Management· Business Administration· Engineering· Logistics· Industrial Management
Experience· 5–8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles.· Minimum 2–3 years in a senior procurement role.· Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is highly preferred.· Experience in purchasing raw materials, technical spare parts, machinery, and industrial services is desirable.
Technical Skills· The Senior Procurement Specialist must demonstrate strong knowledge in:· Strategic sourcing techniques· Supplier evaluation and auditing· Contract negotiation· Cost analysis and spend management· Procurement planning· ERP procurement systems (SAP / Oracle / Odoo / Microsoft Dynamics)· Microsoft Excel advanced analysis· Procurement documentation and tender management
