Job DescriptionWe are seeking for Senior Accountant for our GSS Finance team based in Cairo, Egypt.
To succeed in this role, you should be a caring and respectful team player with excellent communication skills and cultural awareness. On this position you will cooperate with Chief Accountants located in Cairo and Dubai and with accounting teams from Global Shared Service Center in Poland and Pune to ensure compliance with internal & external reporting requirements for both Group and Statutory reporting purposes.
You also must be able to work independently, you need to be attentive to details, aware of deadlines and work well under pressure.
When employed, you will be a part of GSS Finance team focusing on overview of bookkeeping, providing advisory finance services to organization and being involved in financial reporting and compliance processes.
In work you will:
- Work closely with Chief Accountants to ensure local compliance.
- Contact and collaborate with various stakeholders in respect of transactions performed by our Finance Shared Services Center in Pune (India).
- Support Chief Accountant for financial bookkeeping.
- Support Chief accountants with documentation preparation for CIT, TP filings as well as Tax audits.
- Manage the relationship with internal/ external parties responsible for preparing statutory financial statements.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accruals are accurate and complete.
- Take part in monthly/quarterly balance sheet reviews and follow up on any aged open or unreconciled items.
- Monitor and manage cashflow forecasting of the specific entities in cooperation with Cash Management Team.
- Support Internal and External Audits.
- Continuously develop, optimize & standardize finance processes.
- Support Chief Accountant to take active steps to reconcile and pay all Intercompany balances in line with GSS Finance goals and KPI's, considering local exchange control regulations.
- Work closely with Chief Accountant for key strategic projects including clean up of legacy and old balance sheet items.
- Ensure compliance with Egyptian statutory and tax requirements including VAT, WHT, payroll tax and social insurance.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement.

QualificationsTo maximize your chances, you need:
- Academic degree in Finance and Accounting or comparable qualification; A professional accounting qualification will be an added advantage.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in accountant/audit role; big 4 experience would be an added advantage.
- Solid knowledge of accounting and tax principles and practices.
- Knowledge of IFRS and Egyptian Accounting standards.
- Good excel and reporting skills including POWER BI.
- Fluent in English and Arabic (verbal and written).
- Ability to track any discrepancies to the core/primary transaction and implement effective resolution.
- Experience in international finance organization in an advantage.
- Meticulous, independent, proactive mindset and ability to execute tasks within tight deadlines.
- Experience in financial control is an advantage.
- Knowledge of any ERP is required; Oracle is an advantage.
- Familiarity or genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence use (CoPilot/Chat GPT etc.)
- Familiarity data analytics (Power BI, Power query in Excel etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) portals and e-filing systems.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance environment.
