Job purpose:

The Senior Localization Engineer supports project management by handling file conversion, preparation, and quality assurance tasks. This role provides technical assistance with CAT tools, oversees new team member progress, and collaborates with IT on technical issues. 

Additionally, the Senior Localization Engineer develops automation scripts, training materials, and custom solutions to streamline workflows and enhance team efficiency, while leading onboarding and training sessions for new hires.

Key accountabilities: 

• File Conversion & Preparation Support: Assist project managers with technical tasks such as file conversion, preparation, and word count analysis to optimize workflows for linguists.

  
  

• File Quality Assurance: Perform thorough post-translation quality checks to ensure deliverables meet client standards before submission.

  
  

• CAT Tool Support: Provide technical assistance to colleagues experiencing challenges with CAT tools and related software.

  
  

• Team Mentorship & Onboarding: Support team members and monitor the progress of new hires to ensure smooth integration into their roles.

  
  

• Collaboration with IT: Partner with the IT department to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues impacting CAT tool performance.

  
  

• Training Material Development: Create instructional resources and documentation as requested by project managers to support team learning.

  
  

• Workflow Automation: Design and implement automation tools and scripts to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort.

  
  

• Custom Script Development: Build tailored scripts and automation solutions in response to specific project requirements.

  
  

• New Hire Training: Lead scheduled training sessions to onboard and upskill new team members.

  
  

Must have professional qualifications:

• Bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

  
  

• + 4 Years of experience.

  
  

• Strong expertise in software development, internationalization, and localization.

  
  

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.

  
  

• Extensive experience with localization tools, CAT tools, version control, Automation & Mobile localization & Web localization, and management systems.

  
  

• Deep understanding of web technologies, APIs, and content management systems (CMS).

  
  

• ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

  
  

• Knowledge of agile methodologies; fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
