Job Summary The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations, maintenance, and performance of the company’s vehicle fleet. This role ensures vehicles are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and available to meet operational needs. The Fleet Supervisor leads drivers and technicians, controls fleet costs, ensures regulatory compliance, and continuously improves fleet efficiency and safety.________________________________________
Key Responsibilities1. Fleet Operations• Supervise daily fleet activities to ensure vehicles are available and operational.• Plan vehicle assignments based on operational requirements.• Monitor vehicle utilization and reduce idle or underused assets.• Coordinate vehicle movement, dispatching, and scheduling.
2. Maintenance & Asset Management• Plan and control preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.• Ensure vehicles comply with safety and legal requirements.• Monitor vehicle condition, mileage, service history, and lifecycle.• Decide on repair vs. replacement based on cost and reliability.
3. Cost Control & Budgeting• Control fuel, maintenance, spare parts, and leasing costs.• Analyze fleet cost per km / per trip / per vehicle.• Negotiate with suppliers, workshops, and fuel providers.• Prepare and monitor fleet budgets.
4. Driver Supervision• Supervise, train, and evaluate drivers.• Enforce safe driving and company policies.• Manage driver schedules, attendance, and performance.• Investigate accidents, violations, and complaints.
5. Safety & Compliance• Ensure compliance with traffic laws, transport regulations, and company standards.• Implement safety programs and driver training.• Maintain all fleet documentation, licenses, and inspections.• Lead accident investigations and corrective actions.
6. Reporting & Systems• Use fleet management systems and telematics.• Prepare reports on fuel usage, maintenance, downtime, and costs.• Analyze trends and recommend improvements.• Maintain accurate fleet records.________________________________________
Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Transportation, or related field.• 3–7 years of experience in fleet, transport, or logistics operations.• Previous supervisory experience preferred.• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and transport regulations.• Experience with fleet management systems and GPS tracking.________________________________________
