Metallurgy Engineer

 

  1. Define heat-treatment cycles (hardening, tempering, induction, normalizing, stress-relief, nitriding).
  2. Review material certificates (MTC), chemical composition, and mechanical test results.
  3. Perform metallurgical investigations, microstructural analysis, and hardness mapping.
  4. Analyze failures (fracture, wear, fatigue, overload) and recommend corrective actions.
  5. Verify supplier material quality and ensure compliance with ASTM, EN, DIN standards.
  6. Support QC department in inspection criteria for materials and heat-treated components.
  7. Provide technical support to sales/BD for customer inquiries related to materials & metallurgy.
  8. Prepare metallurgical reports and maintain documentation for ISO/QA systems.
  9. Improve production processes to enhance material performance and reduce defects.
