To develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for engineering, procurement, and construction projects by analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements, supporting the company’s bidding and budgeting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project tender documents, technical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather data and validate estimates.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
- Develop cost breakdown structures and pricing models for proposals.
- Support project planning by providing input on budget forecasts and value engineering options.
- Assist in the preparation of commercial and technical proposals.
- Conduct risk analysis to account for uncertainties in cost estimation.
- Maintain a database of cost information and historical data for reference.
- Prepare and present cost estimation reports to management for review and approval.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
- minimum 5 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, or Primavera).
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
