Network Administration:
- Configure, manage, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, bandwidth usage, and connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related problems and outages promptly.
- Ensure network availability, reliability, and scalability for all users and systems.
- Implement network policies, procedures, and best practices.
2. Security Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain network security policies and procedures.
- Monitor network security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security gaps.
- Respond to security incidents, investigate breaches, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with IT security standards and regulatory requirements.
3. System Administration & Support:
- Provide support for network-related hardware and software issues.
- Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network access control.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and inventory of network equipment.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement upgrades, patches, and system improvements.
4. Monitoring & Reporting:
- Continuously monitor network health and security logs.
- Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and system utilization.
- Recommend improvements to optimize network performance and enhance security.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in network administration and security.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, and routing/switching concepts.
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with network security standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP.
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid networks.
- Knowledge of endpoint security, antivirus solutions, and SIEM tools.
- Experience in implementing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Prior experience in enterprise network environments with large-scale deployments
